I hope you've all been able to take advantage of Presidents' Day and maybe sleep in a little. It's always nice not to have to live by an alarm clock, isn't it?
There's no cause for alarm this week, as it's rather quiet on the Women's Ministry front. I know a lot of you are gearing up for our retreat, which is in just under two weeks. Those of you attending should have got an email from me last night. If you didn't, please let me know. We're going to have such a fantastic time!
But there are some of you who aren't able to go in March, so I have a special deal for you. How about we get together at Ashberry Lane (assuming we still live here then) the weekend of May 13th & 14th? I know we have a WOW Movie Night scheduled during that time, but we can easily change the date for that. We can use the same Beth Moore DVD series that we'll be using at the retreat and enjoy the same teaching. I'd like to have at least 5 women do it in order to pull it off, so please let me know if you're interested. If I don't hear from you directly, I may contact you any way! It would cost much less than the retreat at the beach, and you could either sleep on air mattresses here or go home for the night. Please let me know your thoughts on this.
Don't forget to keep the date of April 9th open for our Mother/Daughter event. We're still in the planning stage on that, so I will get more details to you and soon as we figure them out!
So, until next week, I think this is all. I appreciate hearing from those of you who leave comments to each other. Feel free to jump in at any time!

Shall I lead off with first comment? President's Day has been a good day, though the hr. I woke was far earlier than I'd ever choose. Awakened to have some much needed time with the Lord, I think. Bonus was seeing my dear husband's expression when he discovered I was awake before him. Inconceivable! :)
ReplyDeleteWell the early bird gets the worm, Tami.. but if I had woken as early as you I would be napping ohh wait I did nap today and sleep till 9:30ish.. I LOVE sleep.. I should have got up to have some time with the Lord too.. much more beneficial than sleep!!! I just love this blog and looking fwd to it every Mon and then weds.. but Sherrie I don't get to see you this weds and then now a short blog, I was anticipating a lengthy, heartfelt, wise and sober blog post!!! but I guess I will have to be filled some other way ;0)
ReplyDeleteBlogger was misbehaving for me earlier today, so I saw your comment come in right away, Tami, but wasn't able to post an answer. I ended up shutting down the computer and starting over, and now here I am!!
ReplyDeleteTami, I'm impressed by the start to your day! Good for you! Sounds like you really awakened your soul and looked up! And it's always fun to surprise one's husband!
Chrissy, you are as sweet as ever! (The rest of you don't know this, but she sent me a message before 10 this morning wondering where the blog was!!) Oh, so now I suddenly understand why the blog was short this week, because I felt this IMMENSE pressure from Chrissy to get something posted! LOL Truthfully, I just didn't have a lot to say off the top of my head. I never want to bore people with this.
Kristin, congratulations on getting accepted! That's a wonderful answer to prayer. But now it sounds as if more prayers are needed regarding discerning whether this is really what God has planned for the next part of your life. No wonder you're on an emotional roller coaster! (And it looks like you can now be the ghost writer for my blog when it's short!!)
Kristin,
ReplyDeleteWe'll be praying for the Lord to make it completely clear to you! I'm applying for work this week and wanting to be able to telecommute, so I woke early as usual to greet the tech guy who set up our new internet service provider. No sleeping in today. I don't like waking up early, but I listen to Spirit Praise on KPDQ and it helps make it a lot easier to wake praising the Lord!
I woke to an alarm, hustled the three kids to a doctor's appointment 45 minutes away just to be told that the doctor was sick and they had called everyone on Friday to cancel. Confirmed my number, but no message. Had a missed call, but pretty sure you have to leave a message to consider the appt. canceled! I wanted to get mad--seemed only natural--but then again, getting mad is a lot of work, so I complained once to Mom and Dave, then let it go! lol
ReplyDeleteI'm lovin' all these "wake up" stories today! Cathy, that would be wonderful if you can work from home. And it sounds like the tech guy actually showed up on time, instead of you getting up early and having to wait for hours.
ReplyDeleteChristina, even after you're married you can call and complain about things like that! It certainly would be frustrating to anyone to have a goof-up like that, and it certainly seemed to be the office's fault. Glad you were able to redeem your attitude and your day!!
Kristin, We will pray for David. Also we are praising God for the opportunities you have, big choices to be made for sure!
ReplyDeleteSherrie, Chrissy isn't the only one whose week doesn't begin until the blog is up. . . no pressure.
I still somehow take the blame ;0) thanks tami for sticking up for me!!
ReplyDeletewow, Kristin!!! woo hoo!! what an awesome answer to prayer now to start a new prayer and find out where God wants you!!! I will be sure to try and remember to keep that in my mind and pray for you and his discernment and direction to be clear to you! also for Davids family..
I got a wake up story to top all of yours! 3:20am, I hear "Mom! I'm sick!!!" over the monitor, run upstairs to find Noah with a bowl... lovely... he spent the next 2 1/2 hours throwing up 8 times!!! Then he slept, woke up at 7 am right as rain! Totally normal the entire rest of the day. It was definitely food poisoning from the dinner the night before... don't ask... :o) Just had to get it out of his system. NOT a fun way to wake up, I tell ya!
ReplyDeleteUp just long enough to make sure there was no point to you trying to get back to bed, huh? Not fun. Good to know Noah is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI'm late getting back on here, but Amy, that sounds like a terrible way to start off your Monday! At least the poor little guy had a bowl already with him, huh? I guess it could've been worse!
