Tuesday, April 19, 2016 WOW-Zine

Good morning, ladies! Some of you may have noticed that I just now created a secret Facebook page for the Women of Wapato. After the retreat several people had asked that I do so, but I was too busy last week. But the time is now. If you don't want to be part of the group, please feel free to remove your name. I know there are some women I have inadvertently left off the list, so if I somehow skipped over your name and you'd like to be a part of this group, please let me know and I'll add you in. I don't want to leave anyone out that would like to be included, nor do I want anyone to feel they have to be in it if they'd rather not!

I'll write up a description on the page later on, but I'm envisioning this as being a place where we can share our joy and struggles, check in with each other as needed, perhaps even have a bit of accountability. Because it's a secret page, that means only those who have been invited to the page by me will be able to see what's on there. So it should be a pretty secure place to do life together, sisters!

Neither of our Bible studies will meet this week, but we'll get back to our weekly schedule on April 28th. Yay!

I like to share events I hear about that I think some of you may be interested in attending. For example, the evening with author Francine Rivers this Thursday in Vancouver. If anyone is interested in going, let me know and I'll send you an invite via Facebook. Another great time coming in the near future is this:
This is a perfect Spring event to invite your friends, sisters, and neighbors and even the woman in your Zumba class! Get your tickets today for ONE HEART: In the Neighborhood on Saturday, May 7th!

Friendships are the platform and plan for Jesus to get His message of love, grace and forgiveness out to our neighborhoods.

Start inviting every woman you know. It will be a fun and fab time with small breakfast bites, music and a conversation on friendship.

For the JOY of It  is a community of women actively chasing after the heart of Christ together.

We are a non-profit that exists to unite women to be built-up on the truth of God’s Word so we can live it out together...for the joy of it!  Through this ministry we host leadership collaborations, prayer gatherings, city-wide events that equip women and girls to build-up each other instead of tear-down and we come along side to support and equip women and churches in raising up the next generation.

For the JOY of It gets behind the existing activity of Christ that unites, builds and equips women to live out truth.  Contact us to see how we can come along-side and support you!

You can hear more of the Joy of It team on the radio…Thursday afternoons at 2:30 on 93.9 KPDQ and on Sunday mornings at 11:30 on True Talk 800. Each week they explore God’s Word and discuss practical ways we can live for the joy of it in our homes, relationships and community.

I've got my ticket already, and hope some of the rest of you would like to join me that morning, May 7th.

Another opportunity is Discovering the Who in You, sponsored by the Urban Center for Women's Ministry, and being held at North Portland Bible College on Saturday, May 14th, from 10-2. The cost is $25, which includes lunch. This is a personal development workshop based on Ephesians 2:10, utilizing tools and discussion designed to facilitate a greater understanding of one's uniqueness and purpose. Let me know if you'd like more information.

Until next time,
