The purchase/sale of Rita's homes was only part of the story regarding the cancellation of her party. Within in the last two weeks she learned that she has cancer, has had surgery, and will soon begin chemotherapy. Per her doctor's request she will be staying local, so escrow on the new house has stopped. This is a lot for anyone to deal with in such a short amount of time. She has a lot of doctors appointments and decisions to make and is asking for prayer but also that support come through cards, emails, texts, etc, rather than visits and phone calls while she sorts things out. Please keep her in your prayers during this time.
The Perk meets Thursday morning from 9:30-11, with childcare available. Jaimie is providing snacks for our time together. That evening from 6:30-8 Common Grounds will gather for our study, and Jaimie is bringing treats for that too! (She's not sure which group she'll be able to attend due to work, so will make double goodies and send them to whichever one she can't come to. Smart lady!) We'll be in Colossians 1:12-14 this week.
Don't forget about the church-wide Harvest Party this Saturday from 5-8 PM at the Krautscheids' on Old Hiway 47. More information is in the Wapato Weekly, or can be found on the website for Wapato Valley Church. You can also sign up for the potluck there. It's a fun activity for your family and friends.
Coming up on Friday, Oct. 23rd at Karen's (7 PM) is our WOW Movie Night. This is always a fun, relaxing time to bring a goodie and enjoy a great movie together. Put it on your calendar now!
