Monday, August 26, 2012 WOW-Zine

I'm baaaaack! We returned last night from our week-long Alaskan cruise. What a fun trip we had! This was our first cruise, and hopefully it won't be our last. My folks went along with us and it was fun to share the experience together. We went to Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Glacier Bay, and Victoria. So much beauty the Lord has created! And I'm so thankful to have such a beautiful part of the country to return home to. Makes it easier to end vacation and get back to real life!

Summer will be wrapping up for our WOW activities with a trip to Rockaway Beach this Thursday, August 30th. Grab your kiddos, grandkids, friends, enemies, etc. and join us there at noon. I know the weather feels more like fall than summer right now, but I checked the weather forecast and "they" are saying it should be 67 degrees on Thursday. That's almost balmy for the Oregon Coast! Please provide your own lunch, snacks, beach toys, blankets, and all the other stuff it takes for a successful day at the beach. And if you want to end the day with a stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory for some delicious ice cream, make sure to bring money for that. Please let me know if you're coming.

All our other usual activities are done for the summer. I think we've had a good summer--getting our bodies in better shape through Holy Sweat exercise classes, getting in better shape spiritually through our great Bible study on Your Strong Suit, and getting our relationships with each other in better shape through the different fun activities we've shared throughout the summer. So this is your chance to breathe before your Women's Ministry Team shares with you the plans for the coming year. Common Grounds will resume on Wednesday evening, September 12th, and The Perk will start up again on Thursday morning, September 13th. Both groups will meet weekly throughout the year.

So send me an email, text, or phone call to let me know you're coming to rock out at Rockaway this Thursday!
