HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY, LADIES! This is a special day to remember those who have served and given their lives in military service, as well as ordinary friends and loved ones that have passed on before us. Do any of you have a remembrance of someone special that you'd like to share with us this week? I'd love to hear about some of the much-missed people you're thinking about today. What made them memorable to you?
If it seems like it's been a while since you've heard from me, that's because it has! I was gone last week down to Shady Cove in southern Oregon. It's in the hills above Medford. This was the fourth year in a row that I've gone with my parents down there to meet up with their best friends, who are from Paradise, California. (What a neat name, huh?) I had a relaxing several days spent visiting, playing cards, and eating, while the two men went out fishing every day. I love being able to spend such quality time with my folks. And this weekend I've had grandkids with me all the time, so it's been a great week of blending generations.
If you didn't attend either one of the Loving Well retreats this spring, please don't skip this paragraph! You may think this doesn't pertain to you, but it does! Those who were at the retreats received a journal/study book along with their tote. This summer the Women of Wapato (WOW) will be working our way through this book. "But I wasn't there and I don't have a book, so I can skip this paragraph after all!" you are saying to yourself. Sorry, but you're wrong! Even those who do not have a copy of the little booklet will have access to some of the main questions we'll be addressing. There are six days-worth of questions to contemplate each week, so it's time to start by the first part of the month if you plan on joining me at the first lesson June 9th. Don't put it off. (I'm preaching to myself here.)
There are only four weeks of lessons, and in order to make it as convenient as possible for you, two different classes of the same lesson will be offered. This is what the schedule looks like:
Thursday mornings at 10
Lesson 1--June 9
Lesson 2--June 23
Lesson 3--July 7
Lesson 4--July 21
Wednesday evenings at 6:30
Lesson 1--June 15
Lesson 2--June 29
Lesson 3--July 13
Lesson 4--July 27
All classes will be held at Wapato Valley Church and will meet every other week. (Every other week on Thursday mornings, and every other week on Wednesday evenings.) These will be BYOB events, (aka Bring Your Own Beverage). Also, no childcare will be available, as one or the other of these times should work for you to leave your delightful children home with your muscular husband. (See last week's adjectives!) (I seem to have an affinity for parentheses this week, don't I?!)
So if you're able to make it to a Thursday morning session, but are out of town two weeks later when we meet for the next session, you'll be able to make it up by coming to a Wednesday evening meeting instead. In other words, you can switch around and attend which ever Lesson #1 etc, works best for you. If you know which day you think will usually work for you, please let me know. It will be fun to see how this works for us. (In case you haven't noticed, I like trying new things! Maybe next week I'll try a new thing by writing without using any parentheses, but I don't think I'm capable of that!)

No way, it has been almost an hour and a half since Sherrie posted and no one has made a first post?! For the first time ever, I am FIRST!!! Yay me :) I am looking forward to this continued study, although Tanner has baseball every Wednesday and I work, so this will be a self study unless anyone else is in the same boat? Maybe we can do this together!!

I think I'll be coming to the Thurs am sessions, as long as I am in town. Will be fun to be "forced" to work through that book- I need it!!!
