Look at this! What's my excuse for getting this blog out earlier than usual this week? Well, because I'm having some health issues and not sure how I'll be feeling later in the day, I decided to take advantage of feeling pretty good now. I just got back from the neurologist, accompanied by Karen and Kathy. (For a good time, call 555 ...!) I've been having some pretty severe torso spasms that go on for 6-7 hours. Talk about abs of steel!! (Mine are still abs of steel wool, however!) I've got an EEG first thing on Friday morning and am off my medications for now. (Be afraid, be very afraid!) Seriously, we don't know what's going on, so I'd really appreciate your prayers.
This Wednesday, December 1st, we will have Common Grounds at 6:30. You won't want to miss it! This will be your opportunity to hear Karen share what it's like going to a doctor's appointment with me. I think I'll have her act it out! Our study of Self Talk, Soul Talk will continue as we discuss the difference between self control and being controlled by God's Spirit.
Two weeks later, on the 15th, we'll have our Christmas party, which involves a cookie exchange and white elephants. It's important to note that white elephant gifts are not something you go out and buy, but some little something that you find around your house and no longer want. Maybe you never wanted it. Perhaps it was an ugly vase you inherited from your great aunt Henrietta. Might be that her ashes are still in it!! You just know that you have no intention of ever dusting it again. Well, simply wrap that baby up in festive paper and bring it with you on the 15th. We'll trade items around and see what you end up taking home! Childcare will be provided for those who need it.
Thanks to the women who showed up last Saturday to decorate the church for the Christmas season. Didn't it look nice yesterday? We've got an Undecorating Pizza Party on Wednesday, December 29th at 6:30. Bring a couple dollars to put in on pizza and visit with your girlfriends while putting the decorations away for another year.
Don't forget our Loving Well retreat the first weekend of March. If you've never been to a WOW retreat before, you don't know what you've been missing. If you have been to one, you'll know you don't want to miss it. Eighty dollars will pay for your weekend.

Anxious to see those flying colors, Kristin!! Sounds like something from the 60s! Thanks for the prayers. It's just a very weird thing that is going on. I love ya too, Sist'a!

Hi Sherrie,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know you made my list! My heart and prayer list that is. Please know I'll be amongst all the others who are praying for answers... and positive interventions and outcomes to come your way, right away, as our loving Lord touches you with His healing hands.
Looking forward to PRAYZN together :-)
Margie
Just read Mom's latest "Wow!-I'm-ama-zine" and couldn't be more impressed, right ladies?? :)
ReplyDeleteIt's probably all the grief I've been giving her lately with my teenage mood swings, sneaking out at night, and TP-ing the neighborhood. I'll be good now, I promise.
Oh, truly, I'm not working tomorrow to be home with her and I'm not sure what the rest of the week will look like. If any of you are available to watch Lili during school hours, IF Mom is okay and I feel right about leaving her, please let me know.
It's pretty strange, but God knows exactly what's going on! Wish He would tell us those things, but His THOUGHTS are not my thoughts, neither are His WAYS my ways. So that leaves me with a beautiful option to just trust Him, and I can only guess how much easier that is for me to do on the outside. So, with that ramble now spoken, I love you Sherrie and we are praying for an answer/ solution.
ReplyDeleteChristina- I'm sure Moira would love to have Lili over, so keep us in mind. Thursday morning (Linnaea has an ortho appt in afternoon), or Friday day works for me!
ReplyDeletePraying for you, Sherrie!
