Ladies, as Paul Revere so famously yelled those many years ago, "Retreat is coming! Retreat is coming!" We will go by land to the sea April 7th-9th for a special weekend together. The ladies of The Joy of It team will lead us in Living Your Legacy. If you're looking for a stodgy, old ladies retreat, you'll need to look elsewhere. We know how to have fun!

This year we're meeting at Wi-Ne-Ma Christian Camp, about 16 miles north of Lincoln City (and 5 minutes north of Neskowin) right on the coast. You will love walking the beach and watching the waves roll in. The cost is only $90 and includes Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and dinner, and Sunday breakfast. You'll have plenty of free time on Saturday afternoon to make a trip down to the outlet mall in Lincoln City, or just hang around and take a nap, play games, visit, take a hike, etc. 

The time to register is NOW! I've got the forms with me at home, at Bible study, and at church, so fill one out, give me your money, and you'll be set. After you register I'll send an invitation to Signup Genius where you can select your room. (They are all basically alike, and we will need some people to sleep on a top bunk. You'll be able to make your bed as cozy as you'd like, as you'll need to provide your own bedding and towels. We should have a contest to see who can build the best nest! And don't forget, we'll have a Talent Show on Friday night at retreat. If you'd like to throw a little something together, let me know. It most certainly doesn't have to be professional--a song, a dance, a skit, some good jokes, etc. This is just an opportunity to show off a side of you maybe some people don't know about.

Our Bible study, The Perk, meets Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11. We'd love to have you join us for this special time of connecting with each other as we study God's Word. We're currently looking at the truth that God is stronger than my overwhelming life. Amy B. is providing snacks this week, and we provide childcare for your little ones. Hope to see you at the church this Thursday!

Hi, ladies! I just want to clue you in on some different events that are being presented by your Women's Ministry Team, which is made up of myself, Viv, Carol G., Susan, Christine, Aimee, Debbie, and Natalie.

This Friday night at 7 is our Movie Night at Natalie's house (25970 SW Ridge View Dr. Hillsboro--off Albertson Rd. on Bald Peak). If you have a movie you'd like to see with the other ladies, bring it along and we can choose which one to watch. It doesn't have to be a Christian movie, but a decent one! Bring along a snack to share. If you need to check directions with Natalie, her number is 503-997-4880.

I'm glad so many of you have already signed up for our retreat with The Joy of It trio of speakers as they discuss Living Your Legacy. It's an amazing thing that we're able to have all three of them spend the weekend of April 7th-9th with us at Camp Wi-Ne-Ma. Cost is $90. Speaking of which, every year there are different women who would love to attend, and need to, but are in a very hard spot financially. One of my team members suggested we have a scholarship fund as a way we might provide some financial assistance. So if you would like to put in a little money toward that, just give it to me and I will set it aside. Perhaps you just want to add an extra $5 or $10 when you register. Or maybe you're not able to attend retreat, but you'd love for someone else to go. Whatever money we collect will go toward helping pay part of someone's registration. 

This week at The Perk (Thursday at the church, from 9:30-11 AM) we'll be taking a closer look at Mary and Martha--two sistahs who looked at life differently. Join us for Bible study, discussion, prayer, and snacks (brought to us this week by Amy B.) Childcare is also available.

Ladies, I realize it's been over a month since I've last posted a WOW-Zine. Most of you know I had a health issue suddenly arise the end of January. Thanks to your prayers and the grace of God, that has resolved and I'm back to being as normal as I know how to be!

The really important thing to remind you about is our upcoming retreat at Wi-Ne-Ma Christian Camp April 7th-9th. This is a new venue for us this year, and the Women's Ministry Team is excited to have you join us. Our featured speaker(s) is the entire team of The Joy of It. These dynamic women will be speaking on Living Your Legacy. It doesn't matter what our age, we're all in the process of building a legacy. We'll be challenged as we spend the weekend with Julie,Laurie, and Joy. The cost is $90 and you can register at church or Bible study.
