Good morning, ladies! It seems as if summer has finally arrived (at least for this week!) and we're going to celebrate by having a Beach Party at Rockaway Beach this Friday.
You can show up at any time, but try to be there no later than noon. As you can tell from the pictures above, your children are certainly invited to come along, as what would a beach day be without a child accidentally flinging sand in your face?! Bring all your own beach gear, sunscreen, and lunch. We'll let the kids play while we visit and catch up with each other.
It takes about 1-1/2 hours to get there from Gaston, taking Highway 6 toward Tillamook. I think the beach we're meeting at is on 1st St., but I may be wrong. Feel free to correct me! It's where the red caboose is for the railroad that runs through there. It's the main beach access. You'll need to walk down to find us. Feel free to work out carpools if that's helpful. I'll see you on Friday!

I know it's not Tuesday, but I thought I'd let you all know I'm back in town after having spent the past two weeks on vacation. (Camping the first week, and then visiting my brother in California.) Due to flight delays, I didn't get home until nearly 2:30 this morning! I worked hard at relaxing these last two weeks, which is why you saw very few responses to anything you put on Facebook! I read everything, but didn't respond. But now I'm back and ready to connect.
How about we try a BEACH PARTY next week? I checked the weather (I know, it hasn't done well for other planned activities this summer!) and Rockaway is supposed to be a sunny 76 degrees on Friday, the 29th. We've done this most summers, so let's try again. Meet by noon on the public beach right there. Bring your kids and your lunch and we'll just hang out for the afternoon. Carpooling is encouraged. Please let me know if you plan on going, as I don't want to make the trip if I'm going to be the only one to show up!
A Beth Moore Simulcast will be presented at Grace Baptist Church in Newberg on Saturday, September 17th. Registration opens on August 1, and I'll give you that link when I get it. I don't know what the cost is for the day, but it seems that last year it was around $20, which includes lunch. Plan now to attend then! The event goes from 9-3:30 and is always very encouraging and challenging.
